Weddings vary from nation to nation, from area to area and from the past to the present. Nevertheless, all people consider weddings as important and happy events.
People of the Western World go to church for their weddings while some tribes in Africa hold their weddings in the open with a camp-fire and much dancing.
In China, weddings are different from those abroad. In the past people in our countryside used to carry the bride with a sedan chair from her parents' house to her new home. Now sedan chairs are seldom seen. In-stead,the bridegroom may take the bride to their own new house by bicycle or by tractor. In our cities the bride prefers a taxi decorated with flowers and a Chinese character that means"double-happiness" on the taxi's win-dow. However, both in the countryside and in cities a wedding feast is in-dispensable. Relatives and friends are invited to the feast to eat and drink to the happiness of the bride and bridegroom.

英語作文:中國婚禮 6
The British queue has a long history.Even if only two people, they will also line up.When you take the subway or bus, the British will consciously line up a long line, and so all the people who need to get off the car down, they will queue up in order.Shopping in the supermarket or shopping malls, either pick goods or to the checkout, the British people will consciously stand in front of a customer behind, even to wait twenty or thirty minutes, the British looked too calm, not rash.In Britain, it is considered rude to send a person to the queue first and then to the person behind him.It is not difficult to observe the English etiquette. As soon as the students arrive in Britain, they will feel the British people queuing up in the schools, post offices, banks and supermarkets, thus subtly observing the order. If any student ignores this, he believes he will be killed by a contemptuous eye".
In Britain, there are two ways to do it if you really cant stand in line. One is to book the service in advance where the reservation is made. But many public service projects do not accept reservations, even if they can be booked, a few weeks or even months ahead of schedule. The second is that you can talk to the person in front of you and show that you are really special, to get their accommodation and get you in the front.Although the British often spend a lot of time queuing, it also ensures that they can accomplish what they want in an orderly environment, but actually improves their efficiency.
英語作文:中國婚禮 7
English people pay more attention to etiquette. They have never opened his mouth wide, chew food on the lower lip is always perfectly, because let others see their mouth of the food is not polite. The British do not like to talk while chewing food. If they need to talk when they eat, they usually put only a small amount of food into their mouth each time, and eat and talk alternately. When the soup, the British will use a spoon soup, soup spoon from the side, not from the tip of the soup spoon. These are some of the basic British dining etiquette, in the UK China students to learn to do as the Romans, pay attention to the etiquette in the meal.
In the UK, there is also a lot of knowledge about dining in a restaurant. When you arrive at the dining room, dont sit directly in the empty seat in the restaurant, but stand at the entrance of the restaurant and wait for the attendant to take you to the vacant seat. When ordering, the waiter leaves the menu and usually leaves. Until you have finished ordering the menu, the waiter will come over and continue the service. If you keep looking the menu is out of order, the waiter may not come over to leave you enough time to think about it, so dont think the service in the restaurant is not in place.
There is a small square table in the restaurant, is used to ride in the lap, usually before eating before a dish.If the meal needs to be called waiters, who raise their hands and shouted "waiter" approach is absolutely intolerable. In some fancy restaurants, waiters are usually well disciplined and courteous. You just have to look at him and hell come to serve you.If you are in a mid-range restaurant, the waiter is usually busy, so you can look at the waiter who is closer to you. When he sees you, you just have to nod your head and hell see what you mean.If you havent been discovered for a long time, then you can put your hand in parallel with your shoulder and gently wave your hand to attract the attention of the waiter. You can also say "excuse me" to attract their attention when the waiter passes by you.Remember, I had dinner with my boyfriend at a Spanish restaurant in England, and when I tried to add something, I raised my hand and shouted to the waiter at the other end of the restaurant, "Hello!"".I was surprised when my boyfriend looked at me, and I soon realized that I was too careful about etiquette.I still feel awkward in retrospect.

英語作文:中國婚禮 12
Western wedding is a romantic type, the whole wedding from start to finish to the full of romantic. The brides dress is generally white, the groom is black dress so that the whole wedding was the solemn seriousness. Marriage to the church to the whole wedding ceremony is the most important link. First, as the wedding march rhythm, the bride pull her fathers hands go before the groom by her father she personally delivered the hands of the groom. pastor will ask the bride and groom on the other side to make a lifetime commitment, this is the climax of the whole wedding. then they will be priests and the blessing of everyone, exchanged marriage rings and kiss each other. The bride spent the hands of the ball were not ordinary furnishings. At the end of the wedding, the bride would throw the female guests arrived at the scene, who received curd, who is a married person, which makes the entire ceremony be heard laughing in the end.
China is different from the wedding on the West, the entire weddings main colours are red, this is also the representative of the traditional Chinese festivity colours. This change will enable the wedding jubilation. In the traditional wedding, the bride wearing red Luoyi general, wearing Fengguan, still above a red scarf. While the groom wearing red long gown mandarin jacket, wearing a red cap along. Palanquin bride rode in the red, the groom on horseback in front, with matchmaking and Yingqing teams to the grooms house in Baitang. Parents sitting on the two sides appear, and appear next married bride and groom. Entire wedding presided over by the master of ceremonies, in his command , a bride and groom Baitiande, Xiabai GAO Tang, and then a husband and wife Baidoa, into the bridal chamber.Noisy wedding is the climax of wedding, the bride and groom first to wait for the wedding, the groom and guests on the outstanding hospitality, Jiujufanbao, in a lot of the groom greeted came to the wedding. everybody started Noisy wedding, the bride and groom all stirred up trouble in the next game…… do all this in a whole wedding laughter ended.
By studying the differences between Chinese and Western wedding, I understand their characteristics: Western wedding is pure romantic, and China is happy wedding; Western wedding is feeling valued, and China values the ceremony. In the West because of their different customs, have also formed their own characteristics wedding customs. Though, have different customs, but no matter where the wedding was all full of blessings and laughter.

China is a large country with 56 nationalities.Different nationalities have different marriage customs, but whatever the nationality is, the wedding ceremony is usually very complicated.
The traditional Chinese marriage usually involves 6 necessary procedures, namely: match-making, engagement, betrothal presents, meeting the bride, three bows, and drinking wedlock wine. In addition, a typical Chinese wedding nowadays goes like this:when a new couple is engaged, what followed is a choice of the date of their marriage. Most people would favor a bank holiday or special Chinese festival for their relatives and friends to attend the wedding. However, quite a few others, especially those in the countryside, would probably ask a fortune-teller for a lucky date(usually an even number)so that their marriage would have"Double Happiness". The wedding ceremony is usually presided warmly ,and the wedding ceremony very often ends with a very extravagant banquet.
Toasts are made to wish the new couple long life, eternal love and happiness, early birth of a healthy baby and so on.

Nowadays, for the young people, when they come to the marriage, the first thing they think of is the house, and then the car. A house and a car seem to be necessary equipment for marriage. If people dont own these, the elders wont be happy or even refuse their daughters to get married. The great expense of marriage is such a heavy burden that some people advocate the simple style.
For Chinese tradition, when the couples get married, both relatives should be invited and have a big party. Both sides gain respect by the luxury of the party, so the couples need to spend a lot of money to save face, which is a great burden for them, some even borrow money and then pay off in the rest of days.
As there is so much pressure for the young generation to face, the simple lifestyle is favored by them. Some choose to take a trip as the great celebration and skip the party. It is comfortable and romantic. The most important thing is not to waste money.

It is undeniable that marrying without children is growing in popularity for young people nowadays. Though the causes for it may be very complex, there are three main factors which can account for it.
First, now a lot of people focus on their career, don’t hope for the birth of the child and give up their long-term effort to get career achievements. Though some people say that having a child can firmer the family and love, career can also not only make love affair and family firmer but is the foundation of economic origin. If you have children, you must take care of him so that can’t spend enough time on career. Without career, marriage will be difficult. Work hard to own a good economic base in order to meet the childs arrival. Also career can achieve their life value.
Second, they like two people world so don’t want the child to disturb their happy life. They can go to wherever they like enjoy themselves. If they have a child, they have to stay with the children to take care of him. Whatever they do, they seem to be bounded.
Third, restricted by economic conditions, they can’t give children a stable and healthy living condition. With the college expansion, many young people are facing employment problems, and some other factors, such as prices. Rising house prices will also affect these young people’s economic conditions. A survey calculated, a child from birth to college costs are over 180 thousand RMB. It needs just so much money that many young couple can’t afford it.
While it is reasonable, I am still positive that marrying without children for young people will be more and more popular.

Should College Students Be Allowed to Get Married
There is no denying the fact that it is a hotly debated topic today whether college students should be allowed to get married. Some time ago, the ban was lifted by some universities on students getting married. To this people’s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view. They say that most college students are adults and that it is a basic right for those who have reached the appropriate ages to get married.
Many others, however, hold the opposite view. They claim that the university or college is a place to study instead of a community to lead a family life. Allowing college students to get married would adversely affect their study. For instance, they would spend too much time attending their family and love, unable to concentrate on their school work.
As far as I am concerned, I believe that it is OK to allow college students to get married. Anyway, this is their freedom. Actually, we don’t have to worry too much because facts have shown that most college students would choose not to get married in the face of such fierce competition and heavy school work.

Chinese weddings, steeped in rich cultural heritage and symbolism, are a beautiful blend of ancient traditions and family values. A typical traditional Chinese wedding involves several rituals that span over days, each carrying its own significance.
One of the most important pre-wedding customs is the "Guo Da Li," which literally means "passing the big gift." This ceremony involves the grooms family presenting gifts to the bride’s family as a sign of respect and gratitude for raising their daughter. These gifts often include tea, wine, fruits, and sometimes even gold jewelry or money, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity.
On the wedding day itself, the bride typically wears a red qipao (a type of traditional dress) adorned with intricate embroidery, reflecting happiness and luck. The color red is considered auspicious in Chinese culture, representing joy and celebration. Meanwhile, the groom may wear a traditional Chinese suit, also in shades of red or black, complementing his bride.
Another significant ritual is the "San Cha Liu Bei" (Three Tea Six Etiquettes), where both the bride and groom serve tea to their parents and elders as a gesture of gratitude and respect. In return, they receive blessings and sometimes monetary gifts. This act not only strengthens familial bonds but also signifies the couples acceptance into each others families.
Throughout the celebration, there are many more unique customs such as door games (where the groom must pass tests set by the bridesmaids before he can see the bride), the exchange of rings, and the sharing of a special meal prepared with ingredients believed to bring long life, health, and fertility.
In conclusion, while modern influences have introduced new elements to Chinese weddings, the core values and traditions remain an integral part of these joyous occasions, preserving a connection to Chinas rich history and cultural identity.
英語作文:中國婚禮 18
In recent years, Chinese weddings have evolved to incorporate contemporary trends alongside traditional practices, creating a unique fusion that reflects the changing dynamics of society. Today, couples are more inclined towards personalization, choosing aspects of their wedding that resonate with their individual tastes and lifestyles, while still honoring their cultural roots.
A noticeable trend is the shift from exclusively traditional attire to a mix of styles. While some brides opt for the classic red qipao, others prefer Western-style white gowns for their main ceremony, switching to traditional outfits for specific rituals like the tea ceremony. Similarly, grooms might start off in a tuxedo before changing into a traditional Chinese outfit later on. This blending of East and West allows for a celebration that feels both familiar and fresh.
Technology plays a significant role in todays weddings, too. From live streaming the ceremony to guests who couldnt make it, to using social media platforms to share moments instantly, technology helps bridge distances and keeps everyone connected. Additionally, digital invitations and online RSVPs have become popular, making planning easier and more environmentally friendly.
The venues for modern Chinese weddings are also becoming increasingly diverse. While banquets at hotels or restaurants remain a common choice, outdoor settings, destination weddings, and even themed parties are gaining popularity. Couples now seek locations that reflect their personalities or shared interests, adding a personal touch to their special day.
Despite these changes, certain traditional elements continue to hold strong. For instance, the importance of family remains central, with many couples incorporating the tea ceremony and other symbolic acts to honor their elders. Furthermore, the use of lucky colors, especially red, and auspicious decorations, continues to be prevalent, ensuring that the spirit of Chinese culture is kept alive.
Overall, modern Chinese weddings beautifully illustrate how tradition and innovation can coexist, offering a glimpse into the dynamic nature of Chinese society. By embracing both the old and the new, these celebrations not only celebrate love but also pay homage to a rich cultural heritage.

In China, weddings are considered as one of the most important and auspicious events in a persons life. The traditions and customs surrounding these weddings are rich and deeply rooted in Chinese culture. One of the most notable aspects of a Chinese wedding is the engagement period, during which the families of the bride and groom negotiate the terms of the marriage, including the dowry and other gifts.
On the wedding day, the bride is adorned in a traditional red wedding dress, symbolizing happiness and prosperity. The groom, on the other hand, wears a Western-style suit or a traditional Chinese tunic and trousers. The ceremony typically includes the exchange of vows, the presentation of tea to the elders, and the sealing of the marriage with red wine.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds participate in a series of customs and rituals, such as crossing a fire pit to symbolize purity and driving away evil spirits. The wedding banquet, held in a grand hall or restaurant, is a feast of traditional Chinese dishes, and guests are expected to present gifts and best wishes to the couple.
英語作文:中國婚禮 20
Red is the dominant color in Chinese weddings, as it symbolizes joy, luck, and prosperity. From the brides dress to the decorations, red is omnipresent. The brides wedding dress, called a "qipao" or a "cheongsam," is traditionally red, but modern brides may also choose to wear Western-style white dresses with red accessories.
Red lanterns, red banners, and red candles are also essential decorations at a Chinese wedding. The grooms family places red envelopes filled with money at the entrance of their home to greet guests, while the brides family hands out red candies and nuts as tokens of good luck.
Moreover, the exchange of red envelopes during the wedding ceremony is a cherished tradition. The bride and groom give red envelopes to their parents and other relatives, and in return, they receive red envelopes filled with blessings and monetary gifts from the guests.
英語作文:中國婚禮 21
The tea ceremony is a crucial part of a Chinese wedding, as it signifies respect and filial piety. After the exchange of vows, the newlyweds serve tea to their parents and elders, symbolizing their gratitude and commitment to honor and respect their families.
The tea is prepared in traditional Chinese tea sets, and the newlyweds kneel before their parents to present the tea cups. The parents accept the tea with a smile and blessings, and in some regions, they may give the newlyweds red envelopes as a token of their acceptance and approval.
This ritual is not only a symbol of respect but also a way to bond the newlyweds with their families and ancestors. It reinforces the values of filial piety and family unity, which are deeply cherished in Chinese culture.
英語作文:中國婚禮 22
The wedding banquet is the highlight of a Chinese wedding, as it brings together family and friends to celebrate the union of the bride and groom. The banquet is held in a grand hall or restaurant, and the menu usually includes traditional Chinese dishes such as roasted duck, sharks fin soup, and steamed fish.
Music plays a significant role in setting the mood for the banquet. Traditional Chinese instruments like the erhu, pipa, and flute are often used to perform classical melodies, while modern weddings may also incorporate Western music. The newlyweds dance to the tunes, and guests are encouraged to join in and celebrate the occasion.
After the banquet, the newlyweds may take part in various post-wedding customs, such as visiting relatives and friends, participating in games, and distributing wedding favors to guests.
英語作文:中國婚禮 23
While traditional customs and rituals remain an integral part of Chinese weddings, modern trends are also emerging. Many couples now choose to blend traditional and Western elements in their weddings, creating a unique and personalized experience.
For example, some brides opt for a mix of traditional Chinese and Western attire, wearing a red qipao for the ceremony and a white wedding dress for the reception. Western-style vows and ring exchanges are also becoming more common, along with more relaxed and less formal wedding ceremonies.
Moreover, with the rise of digital media, many couples now choose to share their wedding stories and highlights on social media platforms, allowing friends and family who couldnt attend the wedding to still feel connected and part of the celebration.
In conclusion, Chinese weddings are a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity, reflecting the evolving culture and values of Chinese society.
