The thing that goes the farthest toward making life worthwhile, that costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.
The smile that bubbles from the heart that loves its fellow men, will drive away the clouds of gloom and coax the Sun again.
Its full of worth and goodness, too, with manly kindness blent; it’s worth a million dollars, and it doesn’t cost a cent.
There is no room for sadness when we see a cheery smile; It always has the same good look; its never out of style; It nerves us on to try again when failure makes us blue;
當(dāng)我們看到喜悅的`微笑,憂傷就會一掃而光;它始終面容姣好,永不落伍;失敗令我們沮喪之時,它鼓勵我們再次嘗試;
The dimples of encouragement are good for me and you.It pays the highest interest — for it is merely lent;
鼓勵的笑靨于你我大有裨益。它支付的利息高昂無比──只因它是種借貸形式;
Its worth a million dollars, and it doesn’t cost a cent.
A smile comes very easy — you can wrinkle up with cheer. A hundred times before you can squeeze out a salty tear. It ripples out, moreover, to the heartstrings that will tug, and always leaves an echo that is very like a hug.
So, smile away! Folks understand what by a smile is meant. It’s worth a million dollars, and it doesn’t cost a cent.

If you put a buzzard in a pen six to eight feet square and entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of ten to twelve feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.
The ordinary bat that flies around at night, which is a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is to shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.
A bumblebee if dropped into an open tumbler will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.
In many ways, there are lots of people like the buzzard, the bat and the bumblebee. They are struggling about with all their problems and frustrations, not realizing that the answer is right there above them.

The other friend replied: quot; when someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.

John and Bobby joined a wholesale company together just after graduation from college the same year. Both worked very hard.
The boss knew that John worked very hard for the years. He thought a moment and said, "Thank you for your criticism, but I have a request. I hope you will do one more thing for our company before you leave. Perhaps you will change your decision and take back your resignation."
John agreed. The boss asked him to go and find out anyone selling watermelon in the market. John went and returned soon. He said he had found out a man selling watermelon. The boss asked how much per kg? John shook his head and went back to the market to ask and returned to inform the boss $1.2 per kg.
Boss told John to wait a second, and he called Bobby to come to his office. He asked Bobby to go and find anyone selling watermelon in the market. Bobby went, returned and said, boss, only one person selling watermelon. $1.2 per kg, $10 for 10kg, he has inventory of 340 melons. On the table 58 melons, every melon weights about 2 kg, bought from the South two days ago, they are fresh and red, good quality.
John was very impressed and realized the difference between himself and Bobby. He decided not to resign but to learn from Bobby.
My dear friends, a more successful person is more observant, thinks more and explores in depth. Chances exist in the daily details. For the same matter, a more successful person sees more and farther so that he can find out an opportunity and catch it to realize his aim. If a person sees one year ahead, while another sees only tomorrow. The difference between a year and a day is 365times, how could you win?

But all sunshine without shade, all pleasure without pain, is not life at all.Take the lot of the happiest - it is a tangled yarn.Bereavements and blessings,one following another, make us sad and blessed by turns. Even death itself makes life more loving. Men come closest to their true selves in the sober moments of life, under the shadows of sorrow and loss.

To regret ones errors to the point of not repeating them is true repentance. There is nothing noble in being superior to some other man. The true nobility is in being superior to your previous self.

It takes a village to raise a child. Well, the same is true for finding what are called “space warps.” That’s according to astrophysicists who are calling for volunteers to aid in the search for gravitational lenses: astronomical objects so massive that they bend light around themselves, appearing to warp the fabric of space.
Aside from being wicked cool, this light-bending ability means gravitational lenses act like space-based magnifying glasses, which gives scientists a zoomed-in view of even more distant galaxies. And sheds light on the makeup of the lenses themselves. The more they distort light, the more dark matter they contain.
An international team of scientists launched the project in May and they’ll be hosting a live Google hangout June 5th at 5 P.M. U.S. Eastern time to call people to the hunt. More info’s at Kavlifoundation.org. Questions can be submitted via e-mail to the Kavli Foundation or on Twitter using the hashtag #KavliAstro.
If you miss the Webcast, go to spacewarps.org to take part and learn how to spot the telltale signs of gravitational lensing in telescopic surveys. The images have already been scanned by computers. But the scientists want your eyes on those skies.

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill1 today. I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today I can fell sad that I dont have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.
Today I can grumble2 about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament3 over all that my parents didnt give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.
Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.
Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark4 upon a quest to discover new relationships.
Today I can murmur5 dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor6 who gets to do the shaping.
What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!
